One of the outstanding comedies of the 1990's, The Sisters Rosensweig took New York by storm when it premiered in 1992. Set in London, it is the story of three Jewish-American sisters who meet to celebrate the oldest sister's birthday. Sara, an enormously successful international banker, is attempting, not very successfully, to raise her teenage daughter alone. Gorgeous, of Newton, Massachusetts, is a suburban housewife, mother and radio talk show personality with an impressive collection of fashion knock-offs. The youngest sister, Pfeni, is an journalist and travel writer who longs to write a serious book. Pfeni's boyfriend, Geoffrey, director of the hit musical The Scarlet Pimpernel, brings to Sara's house Mervyn, a faux furrier. Sara meets Merv and finds that even at fifty-four there are possibilities. An exuberant, heart-warming, contemporary comedy by one of America's best playwrights.

The Hollow

February 7, 8, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 2003 at 8:00 p.m.
Matinee Sunday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m.

Based on Agatha Christie's best selling novel, The Hollow is the quintessential English country house murder mystery. Dr. John Cristow, a prominent society doctor, is about to have a very bad day. He had planned a pleasant weekend at the country estate of Sir Henry and Lady Lucy Angkatell with Gerda, his adoring wife, and a few close friends, including his current mistress, Henrietta Angkatell, a talented and independent-minded sculptress. Matters go quickly awry when Veronica Crayle, the doctor's former mistress, also turns up. Years before, Veronica had abandoned John in her quest for a successful film career. Now a Hollywood star, she is determined to get John back on her own terms. Add a pair of unhappy young lovers, the perfect English butler, and a detective from Scotland Yard—once again Agatha Christie has created the perfect recipe for mischief, malice and murder. How delicious! Who is the victim? Who is the murderer? Could this really be a case of "the butler did it?" See if you can be the first to solve the mystery of The Hollow!

The 2002-2003 season closes with a musical celebration of Richard Rodgers' 100th birthday. Come join us as we journey through the extraordinary musical career of America's greatest theatrical composer. Walter Bobbie has compiled over three decades of award-winning musical show tunes by Rodgers & Hammerstein into A Grand Night for Singing. This Rogers & Hammerstein revue opened the 1994 Broadway season to wildly enthusiastic reviews. Ponder the question, "(How Do You Solve a Problem Like) Maria?" (The Sound of Music) and "Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair" (South Pacific). Travel with us to a jazzy "Kansas City" (Oklahoma!) to try and find "A Hundred Million Miracles" (Flower Drum Song). It's "Something Wonderful"!

"A Grand Night for Singing is enough to restore one's faith in the future of the revue and the durability of Rodgers & Hammerstein. It gives the material the kind of thoughtful rethinking it has long deserved."--USA Today

" A splendiferous show of songs, a terrific compendium. Everything's up to date with Rodgers and Hammerstein is indeed a grand night!"--New York Post
