Costume Use and Borrowing Policy
The Walpole Footlighters' Costume Loft is filled with period and whimsical costumes and accessories. We are happy to loan them out at no cost to known theater clubs. We are happy to share our costumes with these local community theaters under the following policy.
This policy applies to Costumers who costume Footlighters shows as well.
IN HOUSE COSTUMERS
First access to the Costume Loft must be coordinated with the Costume Caretaker (currently Linda Berman). The middle racks are for your use to pull costumes for your show(s). There are separators in the work station drawer. The work station is for you to place your costume book, laptop, or other notes on top. This surface is not for storage or dropping off things that are not being used. There are writing implements, scissors, tags, paper, safety pins, etc. in the work station for you to use. The sewing area and fabric section are for you too.
There are additional racks in the shed that can be brought out for use in the lobby as you are outfitting cast members. The lobby is where sewing and other costume work can be done until tech. Then the lobby must be cleaned up for an audience. Clothes on the center rack for your show and those in the lobby not being used for the show must be returned to their original location. Nothing should be left on the show rack once the show closes.
BORROWERS
Looking through our stock and borrowing costumes must be done by appointment only with the Costume Caretaker (currently Linda Berman) via [email protected]. Pictures must be taken and emailed to Linda at [email protected] of anything removed from the Costume Loft. Items must be signed out in the Borrow Book which can be found in the office in the holders on the wall by the loft door.
Only clothing and hats may be borrowed. No shoes or jewelry.
ALL USERS
Items may only be returned via an appointment with Linda and must be either washed, dry cleaned, or Dryel cleaned before returning. They must be returned to the location in the loft where they were found.
Your respect for this policy is greatly appreciated. A TON of work went into the recent culling, cleaning, and organizing the Costume Loft.
Your help in keeping it and our costumes in good shape is the only way to prevent us from going through this Herculean effort again.
