Brenna Hughes
Walpole High School
Brenna recalls the first time she knew she wanted to perform on stage was when she saw Walpole Children's Theatre's production of Pinocchio at the Walpole Footlighters when she was 6 years old. She was cast in her first WCT production in 2014 as Lady Isabel in Robin Hood & His Merry Men. Brenna went on to perform in twelve additional WCT shows, many of which she had leading roles in, such as Spider in James & the Giant Peach, Glinda in The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy in Dorothy in Wonderland and Lydia in King Midas & the Touch of Gold. Brenna took voice and dance lessons, such as tap, for many years and used these talents to star in a number of musicals with Bay Colony Performing Arts Academy, including the role of Wendy in Peter Pan, Heather Duke in Heathers, Katherine Plummer in Newsies, and Velma Kelly in Chicago. She was also in the Ensemble for BCPAA's production of Catch Me If You Can. Brenna's movie credits include the Miller's Widow in WCT's My Name is Rumpelstiltskin and various roles in films produced for the Walpole High School Film Festival. While performing with WCT, she became an apprentice in hair and make-up, which led to her taking a lead role in these areas for a number of productions over the last few years. Most recently, Brenna worked on the crew doing make up and hair for the WCT film Bottle of Joy, and she was the costumer for the WCT original short film, The Great Movie Caper. In the fall, Brenna will be studying early education at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
