Cate's involvement in dance at a young age developed into a love for the performing arts. Her first role on stage was when she was 8 years old in Uncommon Christmas at the Orpheum Theater in Foxborough. From there she performed in Bye Bye Birdie with both YMCA Mansfield and Bird Middle School; Legally Blonde and The Taming of the Shrew with Summer Stage; 13 the Musical with Mansfield Music & Arts Society; High School Musical Jr. and as Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls with Next Generation; and was in seven productions with Walpole Children's Theatre. Cate performed in seven productions with Bay Colony Performing Arts Academy, including The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Seussical Jr, In the Heights, Pippin, and in the role of Davey in Newsies. In her eight productions with The Un-common Theatre, she had a number of lead roles, such as Shonelle in School of Rock, Combeferre in Les Miserables; Bert in Mary Poppins; and Ms. Honey in Matilda. During this time, Cate continued to dance and compete with Edge Studio of Dance in Canton. In 2018, Cate started to contribute her experience and talents with acting and dance on the production crews for a number of productions, such as Assistant Director and Choreographer with BCPAA for Mary Poppins Jr. and Lion King Jr. and as the choreographer for Shrek Jr. and Willy Wonka Jr. with The CREATE Program at Sharon Community Ed. Most recently, in 2020, she was the choreographer for Un-common Theatre's production of Frozen Jr. Cate will be continuing her passion in the performing arts by earning her BFA in Acting and Musical Theater at Wright State University in Ohio.
