Mahoney Cyr
Millis High School
According to Mahoney, she first remembers being involved in theater at age 2 when she was toted around to Walpole Children's Theatre rehearsals and performances by her mother. She finally was able to take to the WCT stage herself when she turned 10 and was cast in the Ensemble for Puss in Boots. As a dedicated WCT member, Mahoney performed in 17 WCT productions and lent a hand in the green room doing hair and make-up for many shows. In addition to WCT, Mahoney performed in Bye Bye Birdie and Annie at Bird Middle School; Little Women with Canton Community Theater; The Little Princess, Peter Pan and Oliver! with Needham Community Theater; Legally Blonde and Shrek with Summer Stage; and in Newsies, Peter Pan, and The Little Mermaid with Bay Colony Performing Arts Academy. She has worked backstage on productions for NCT and BCPAA, and co-directed 4th and 5th graders in "Comic Book Artist" at Boyden Elementary. Movie credits include performances in Head Bandits, a comedy created by the Ugli Crew for the 2019 Walpole High Film Festival, and last summer's WCT film, My Name is Rumpelstiltskin. For the last four years, Mahoney has used her theater experience to compete in Massachusetts Speech and Debate tournaments in Play Reading and Dramatic Performance events. This year she earned a bid to the MSDL State Tournament where she was awarded 3rd place in Play Reading. This fall Mahoney will be attending High Point University in North Carolina in the Honors Scholar Program.
